I am professionally trained as an archaeologist, and have always felt most at home with art and architecture. When not busy writing about very old things, I’m usually busy sketching or painting, or taking photographs. I’m always awkward when asked what kinds of photographs I take. Perhaps my work can be best described with the following words: darkish, black-and-white, reflective, introspective, thoughtful, moody. I seek out the quiet in-between spaces in life, and art that reveals itself slowly, like fine wine.’
